On Thursday 15 February, the Legal and Social Issues Committee will hold the final public hearing for its inquiry into the Victorian Government’s Public Housing Renewal Program.
The public hearing will be from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in the Federation Room at Parliament House.
The Chair of the Social Housing Renewal Standing Advisory Committee, Kathy Mitchell and the Director of Housing at the Department of Health and Human Services, Nick Foa will be among those presenting to the Committee.
As part of its inquiry, the Committee is examining plans to use private sector investment in new social housing.
Issues being considered include the ability to cater for all demographics including families, couples and singles, the effects on current public housing tenants, increase in density and any local environmental impacts, as well as any planning implications.
